Do you want your kids to learn about survival? Would you like for them to be able to take care of themselves when all alone? Well, let them do their own thing early. Just try and guild them with your knowledge but help them do it their way. They will tend to get more out of it in the long run.
Check out the Captain Survival channel. He seems enthused to be learning how to survive on his own. He has his backpack, first-aide kit, knife, flashlight and most important, his survival guide book for gaining as much knowledge as possible. He looks like he is well on his way to becoming a good outdoors man.
