If you are considering buying a sportsman pocket wire saw as your only survival saw you should thing again.
In this video and many others on the web you can see the down sides to using a wire saw for any but the smallest jobs. If a branch is small enough to cut with one of these it is usually easier to just break it off with your hands.
If you want something small to carry that will actually cut wood I suggest buying a pocket chain saw or a small pocket folding saw.
